Prof. Gambari meeting with the President

The Pro-Chancellor of Phoenix University Agwada (PUA), His Excellency, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, was at Lynn University Boca Raton, Florida, United States, on 4th October, 2024. He paid a visit to the Mohammed Ndimi International Business Centre, home for Lynn’s College of Business and Management.

The $14 million Mohammed Indimi International Business Center was commissioned on 16th October, 2014 and carries the name of the lead benefactor, Alhaji (Dr) Mohammed Ndimi, who is also the Chancellor of Phoenix University, Agwada. The 32,000-square-foot International Business Center, with a real-world style of teaching and learning, includes 11 classrooms, 10 study rooms, 29 faculty and staff offices, and innovative collaborative workspaces equipped with the latest technologies.

Prof. Gambari visited the center to see the office, which Dr. Ndimi instructed Lynn University to allocate to him with his name permanently inscribed on it. He was accompanied on the visit by the President of Lynn University, Dr. Kevin M. Ross, and his wife, Helen L. Ross. It would be recalled that Prof. Gambari spent a semester at Lynn University as a Resident Scholar in 2013 at the end of his service at the United Nations before returning to Nigeria.

Prof. Gambari, Nigeria’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs and a former Undersecretary-General of the United Nations (UN), was in the United States to attend side events at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Summit of the Future. He also held a 45-minute meeting at the UN headquarters with the President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, His Excellency Philemon Yang, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Cameroon.

He used the opportunity of the meeting to largely elaborate on the key recommendations of the International Conference held in Abuja, on 3-6 March, 2024 by his think tank, the Savannah Center for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development. He also had engagements at the side events of the UNGA/Summit of The Future.
