Nasarawa State Inland Revenue Engages Phoenix University Agwada on Tax Awareness

Today, the campus of Phoenix University Agwada played host to officials from the Nasarawa State Inland Revenue Service (Garaku Area Office) for an enlightening session on tax reforms, policies, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) generation.

The sensitization program was aimed at educating the university’s staff on their tax obligations, recent tax policy changes, and the importance of obtaining a TIN for financial transactions. Representatives from the revenue office provided in-depth insights into the benefits of compliance, emphasizing how taxation contributes to state development and public services.

During the interactive session, staff members had the opportunity to ask questions and receive clarifications on tax-related concerns, including deductions, remittances, and penalties for non-compliance. The officials also guided attendees on how to easily generate and verify their TINs online or on the JTB mobile App.

Speaking at the event, a representative from the Nasarawa State Inland Revenue Service encouraged the university community to embrace tax compliance as a civic responsibility. He reiterated the government’s commitment to streamlining tax processes and making compliance more convenient for all citizens.

The session was well received by the university staff, with many expressing appreciation for the awareness campaign. Events like these highlight the importance of financial literacy and responsible citizenship, ensuring that individuals and institutions alike remain informed about their tax obligations.

Phoenix University Agwada looks forward to more engagements with relevant agencies to enhance knowledge and foster compliance with government policies for the betterment of society.
