Arc. Shehu Ahmed Tukur is a distinguished architect and leader with over 27 years of experience in the architectural industry. Born on March 7, 1969, in Keffi, Nasarawa State, he is a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, where he earned both a Bachelor of Technology and a Master of Technology in Architecture.
As the Founder and Chairman of Canonic Associates Ltd., a renowned architectural and management consultancy firm with over 50 employees, Arc. Tukur has been recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to architecture and management. His leadership extends beyond his firm, as he has served in various pivotal roles.
Arc. Tukur is a Fellow of several prestigious institutions, including the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA), the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), the Institute of Chartered Management (FIMC), and the Chartered Institute of Administration (FCAI). He has also been a past and current Council Member of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), from which he has received multiple awards of excellence.
Throughout his career, Arc. Tukur has been involved in the design, construction, and management of hundreds of construction projects across Nigeria. His portfolio includes a wide range of projects, such as Airports, Industrial Schemes, Tertiary Institutional Projects, Markets, Residential Quarters, Commercial Developments, Hospitals, Bus Terminals, Museums, Office Complexes, Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Development Institute, Laboratory Complexes, and Media Studios, among others.
His contributions to education are also notable through his involvement in the planning and implementation committees at Phoenix University and ANAN University, where he serves on the Governing Board of ANAN.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Arc. Tukur has been active in the political arena. In 2019, he contested during the gubernatorial primaries and has served as the APC Zonal Vice Chairman for the Nasarawa Western Senatorial District. In the 2023 elections, he was the APC senatorial candidate for Nasarawa West.
