Phoenix University Hosts Command Science Secondary School Students

Students from the Command Science Secondary School, Agwada have paid a familiarization visit to Phoenix University Agwada. The visit which was at the instance of the secondary school was arranged to introduce the students to the courses, facilities and opportunities available to the students who may wish to seek admission to the university.

Receiving the students at the senate chambers of the institution, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Bala informed them that the mission of the university was to be a world class citadel of learning and research primed to produce students who will make a mark in their chosen professions. The Vice Chancellor stated that the reason the university was located in a rural area was to provide a serene environment for learning to take place.

As part of his briefing, Professor Bala also informed the students about the conception and take off of the university. He reeled out the various courses which have been approved for the university and the opportunities available to those who undertake studies in the programmes.

After the briefing by the Vice Chancellor, the students numbering about 50, were led through a facility tour of the institution that took them to the Library, Laboratories and ICT, amongst other places visited.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Science School who led the students to the University, stated that the visit was to expose the students to the study opportunities available in Phoenix University and ensure that they understood the implication of any course they would like to undertake.

In attendance during the visit were Principal Officers of the University as well as members of the academic staff.
